چکیده

Abstract Background The whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Genn.) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), is one of the most damaging pests crops grown in open field and under protected conditions. Owing to indiscriminate use insecticides, whitefly has developed resistance against various insecticides belonging different chemical groups. Use microbial biopesticides (entomopathogenic fungi) can be an effective alternate insecticides. Results This study was planned for evaluation entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) formulations, namely, Beauveria bassiana Balsamo (Vuillemin), Lecanicillium lecanii (Zimmerman) Viegas Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschnikoff) Sorokin botanical pesticide, Neem Baan, management life stages B. on parthenocarpic cucumber liquid formulations Baan at 10 15 ml/l were (90.7 93.3% eggs, 93.3 97.1% nymphs, 92.4 94.2% reduction adults after 3rd spray, respectively) as compared EPF. Among EPF, L. (80.6 86.5% 85.7 91.5% 58.5 69.2% found more than M. (78.4 82.8% 82.5 85.9% 57.7 62.8% third reducing cucumber. Significantly high yield fruits obtained from plot where (2337.5 2420.8 g/plant) used. Minimum fruit recorded untreated control plots. Conclusions integration these schedule conditions will enhance quality market value cucumbers.

Differential transcriptional activity of plant-pathogenic begomoviruses in their whitefly vector (Bemisia tabaci, Gennadius: Hemiptera Aleyrodidae).

Plant-pathogenic begomoviruses have a complex association with their whitefly vector and aspects concerning virus genetic activity (genome replication and gene transcription) within the insect remain highly controversial. Virus transcript abundance was assessed by quantifying selected gene transcripts of Tomato mottle virus (ToMoV, a New World bipartite begomovirus) and Tomato yellow leaf curl ...

Genome-Wide Characterization and Expression Profiling of Sugar Transporter Family in the Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae)

Sugar transporters (STs) play pivotal roles in the growth, development, and stress responses of phloem-sucking insects, such as the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci. In this study, 137 sugar transporters (STs) were identified based on analysis of the genome and transcriptome of B. tabaci MEAM1. B. tabaci MEAM1 encodes a larger number of STs than other selected insects. Phylogenetic and molecular evolut...
